Q. What is SnailSend?
A. SnailSend is a service that lets you send physical letters without ever going to a mailbox or post office. We take your submission, print it on a single page of standard 8.5″ x 11″ white copy paper in black ink, and mail it in a standard unbranded envelope using the United States Postal Service’s First Class mail option.
Q. Who are you and why are you doing this?
A. We’re a team of native New Yorkers who have always seen sending letters as a chore. We thought of this solution as a way to help bring back the art of sending physical mail, and to revolutionize the way people send greetings to peers, feedback to organizations, and messages to politicians. Just consider this our idea of fun.
Q. How long does it take for my letter to get delivered?
A. That depends on where it’s headed. Once your letter is dropped off at the nearest New York City post office or mailbox, the Postal Service can take anywhere from 3 – 7 days to deliver your First Class letter. Unfortunately, we cannot offer delivery confirmation services or tracking information.
Q. How long does it take for you to mail my letter?
A. Once you submit your letter to us, we will drop your letter off at a post office or mailbox within 48 hours.
Q. Where can I send letters to?
A. Anywhere within the United States and its territories are allowed. American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands are a-okay!
Q. Where does the money go?
A. Below you’ll find a breakdown of our cost per letter, not including overhead or labor. Please don’t remind us that we have to pay our electric bills. 🙂

Q. Do you proof read my letters?
A. We don’t have time to or want to proof read your letters.

Q. Are you reading my letters?
A. Our team does see your letters, but the last thing we want to do is read each letter one by one. If we did, we would never be able to mail all of them.
Q. Are my letters secure?
A. We host our submission form at Typeform.com, which provides with 128-bit SSL encryption. This means that everything you send to us via a form is secure.
Q. Do you sell my information?
A. Nope. We will never sell or trade your information with anyone.
Q. I’ll give you $350,000,000 for SnailSend and all of the messages your users have ever sent.

Q. Do you keep copies or records of my letters?
A. In order to keep our operations efficient, we clear our submissions periodically.
